It has been a while since my last blog update. In fact, it has been a while now since I updated my Zazzle store. I made several products for the Christmas season and New Year and then I took a little break to re-think the store and my new year's direction. Time went by quickly as several projects needed my full attention. So the store remained abandoned and all my new ideas were in the drawer! Then I got the flu and for the past two weeks, I did almost nothing. Now another project is coming my way and soon it will make me move to another city. This is going to be quite a dream come true and I could not be happier. So I guess it will be difficult to go back to my early Zazzle start days when I kept updating several times per week and keeping in touch with great artists! But I will not give up as I found it truly rewarding. Every sale makes me quite happy. It's quite a joyful feeling to know that my designs are there in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, or the USA. I w...

Each new day brings a nice surprise.  A Portuguese Love is being featured at Zazzle's main door.  So cool to read my store's name in the Top 10 list!

I got another Today's Best Award on 17th November. I know it's a bit hard to believe but in a matter of days, I got myself three nice little red ribbons. The Scissor Whale belongs to a collection of designs I entitled Scissor Animals Collection. The Whale isn't my favorite. I prefer the Scissor Antelope or the Scissor Birds. But Zazzle team went for the Whale. These designs were inspired by my fondness for cut and paste. I do a lot of collage and I have at least a dozen different scissors. I left design background deliberately empty so people can customize and play with different color options. It also got Top 10 Bags Views ribbon for that day. Conclusion: whales are popular.Thank you, Zazzle! It's an illustration of a whale. Not available anymore, sorry!

Little Stinker Skunk I'm Sorry Greeting Card by krichard08 It has been a week since I opened the store. It’s too soon to have an opinion on how it will perform but I have a good feeling about it. I discovered lots of excellent stores, and great artists are selling great stuff on Zazzle. It’s a market like any other. I had two surprises from two Zazzlers, one posted one of my designs (Party Flu!!!) on the front page of the store, and the other made a public show of her gratitude on her blog just because I dropped by her Wall page to leave some words. Both reactions are fantastic proof of generosity. Omg Cartoon GIF from Omg GIFs Things started nicely. I put into my head that in one week my new Zazzle store should open to the public. I am a determined girl and so I did. I called my shop The Portuguese girl. I liked that name very much. I googled it but not enough and this is a lesson I’ve learned. One must be careful before naming stores. My shop was running and I was happy with it. Well, not too happy. Some of the designs were finished in a rush to fulfill my goal. My new store had 30 visits each day, lots of encouragement on The wall, and nice words from the Zazzle community. I joined a lot of Fan Clubs and got my share of fans too. I discovered some pretty good galleries. Two of them belonged to a Portuguese girl and mother. Then on Sunday morning, I googled again and there it was! I found a shop named mine that selling also Portuguese inspired designs. Ok, I know that I am not being 100% original here. But what a coincidence that a Portuguese girl living in Californ...
