Lesbian couple kissing Valentine's Day Holiday Card by noboringwhite I am just fed up with nonsense comments on Carlos Castro's death. The story has the right amount of ingredients to make big headlines: gay men, murder, luxury environments, and sadness. Police found the beaten and castrated naked body of a 65-year-old man in a luxury suite at the Intercontinental Hotel in Times Square, maybe on the first week of this month. He was laying face-up in a pool of blood inside his 34th-floor room. He was killed by the 20-year-old companion, model Renato Seabra, who confessed. Renato had been visiting New York with Castro. He was taken into police custody and admitted to Bellevue Hospital Center for a psychiatric evaluation. Castro had covered fashion and celebrities and was a well-known gay rights advocate. Seabra had recently been a finalist on a Portuguese reality show, “Face Model of the Year.” The details of Carlos Castro’s murder are shocking and gruesome. His burial...

In the III century AD, the Roman Emperor Claudius II decreed null and void and prohibited marriages, because without family men would be easier to recruit for the fronts of the war. Valentinus violates the unjust imperial decree by performing marriages in secret. Discovering its audacity, he is arrested, tortured, and sentenced to death for violating the law. In prison, he gets messages of encouragement and flowers from people who believed in love. The daughter of his jailer, blind from birth, visited him frequently during his captivity, bringing him food. Valentine describes the world to her and speaks of God. One daylight illuminates the jail. She bursts into tears because a miracle had happened - she regained vision! With the miracle, her entire family converted to Christianity. On the eve of death, Valentinus wrote a last letter to the girl, with whom he had fallen in love, asking her not to part from God, and signed "From your Valentine". From this legend, and over ti...
