What does it take to be a successful Zazzler?

Last Zazzle newsletter was about the Five P’s of profit. 1. Be positive! Everyone likes to get a positive incentive about products and stores. That’s the key to build relationships on Zazzle. On the other hand, you must be positive about yourself and your work too. 2. Be persistent! Improve your products, create more! All it takes to succeed is hard work. 3. Be patient! Don’t give up on your store. Promote it and take care of it. Imagine your store as your new pet! ( I said this, not Zazzle!) 4. Be prepared! This means you must be ahead of calendar all the time. Do you know how fashion works? That’s a good example: collections are made one year before they are delivered to the public. 5. Be political! Well, what does this mean? Is Zazzle telling me to vote on next election? No! In Portugal, we just had Presidential elections in January. USA Presidential election’s coming up in 2012 and it is a big opportunity to earn good money on Zazzle. The idea to retain here is the opportunity. You must have your radar on all the time and discover the new opportunity in front of you!

This newsletter reminds me of entrepreneurs’ quality. Do you have it? If one wants to be successful at Zazzle we got have it! Once I made a line of products named Zazzle Hero. Do you have what it takes to be a Zazzle Hero? Many of you are in Zazzle just for fun. But some of you want to earn money. I do! It’s great to do what we like and to be rewarded for it on top of that! So we need to be entrepreneurs and we must think of our stores as real small companies. Keeping that in mind will help you to orientate your store business.

You must be action-oriented. It’s ok if you dream about your goals. You dream but you make it happen and you work towards it constantly. This is an important entrepreneur quality. You must stick with it until you can. Remember that you may fail but if you do fail you must be sure that you did the impossible to get it running the best possible.

You must know where you are going through. It’s like when you’re on a journey. You want to go to a city far away. You get a map, you Google it. You prepare your car and luggage. You find a nice hotel to stay in the journey is long and you need to make a stop to rest. You read about all you need to make the most of your journey. You set goals and get prepared to achieve your goals. Probably everything will work according to your plan. Or not...If a problem arises you must not be surprised. That’s normal. All you have to focus on is on how to solve it! And keep traveling! Don’t lose time. Solve the problem and keep on!

Ok, now you got another problem and you analyzed your problem and reached the conclusion that it’s a problem you can’t solve. What do you do? You give up? You stare at the clouds and birds in the sky? No! You ask for help. I did it already, several times. Zazzler’s are good helpers. Never got a no for an answer. Sometimes all we need is a little advice from someone that faced and overcome that exact the same problem. I’m always willing to learn from others.

Here’s another idea to keep in mind: if you’re not able to do it all alone, you can always get a partner. One of these days I saw an example of it. There’s this guy, he’s retired and has free time to create products and upload it. He’s got a nice sense of humor but he can’t draw. So he asked a friend to draw some pretty stuff and he adds the captions. Teamwork. He’s a happy Zazzle seller.

And what if I get to do something wrong? I keep that in mind and try not to repeat it. To fail isn’t a drama. It’s a natural growing process. If you are able to learn from mistakes it will be just an experience.

And Zazzle’s newsletter reads we should be political. I say we must be a person of faith. Faith in our instincts and abilities. Yet we must be open enough to recognize our flaws. Being too self-confident can endanger our vision.

Also, an entrepreneur must take risks moderate. What does this mean? I am a Zazzle starter, so for me is to invest what I earn in ads campaigns. That's new to me. I must learn how it works, I must analyze all about it. Will it work? It's uncertain. So I might just lose my money. Ok, it's just a small risk. For you, it might be different.

This was what crossed my mind when I read about the P’s of profit. And what about you? What did you think about it?

#1 Zazzle Stores to discover: Northwest Photos Zazzle Store

Visit Northwest Photos Zazzle Store: Northwestphotos

Zazzle Store Owner: Peggy Thompson

Operates from: Pacific Northwest state of Washington

Products customization dominant type: Photographs

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." Mark Twain wrote this. I agree and Peggy Thompson probably agrees also. She loves to travel regionally to shoot nature and landscape photography. If you are a postcard collector you will like her store. She has great postage too and many other fine products where she displays wonders of Nature - landscapes, botanicals, animals. I recommend.

Have you even been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. Valentine's postcards for straight, gay and lesbian people

I am just fed up with nonsense comments on Carlos Castro death. The story has the right amount of ingredients to make big headlines: gay men, murder, luxury environments, and sadness. Police found the beaten and castrated naked body of a 65-year-old man in a luxury suite at the Intercontinental Hotel in Times Square, maybe on the first week of this month. He was laying face-up in a pool of blood inside his 34th-floor room. He was killed by the 20-year-old companion, model Renato Seabra, who confessed. Renato had been visiting New York with Castro. He was taken into police custody and admitted to Bellevue Hospital Center for a psychiatric evaluation. Castro had covered fashion and celebrities and was a well-known gay rights advocate. Seabra had recently been a finalist on a Portuguese reality show, “Face Model of the Year.” The details of Carlos Castro’s murder are shocking and gruesome. His burial was kind of pathetic and I honestly pity the man’s fortune. He had stated in his biography that he wanted his ashes to be scattered in Manhattan as he loved the city very much- New York was the city of his life, he said. So his sisters kneeled down and poured the ashes of their brother into the grate at W. 44th St. and Broadway as onlookers walked by. Gossip columnists are not into my favorite professionals. I do not read what they write. I disliked Castro very much not because he was gay but because what he did for a living. WTF! I do not care with whom he goes to bed. It was his personal life. Renato’s was a stranger to me. He was an aspiring model. Well, I do not dig models very much either! He must have a pretty screwed up sense of right and wrong. But humans can do the most impossible things! Now he’s facing a wasted life in an American jail. As a former lawyer, I think that this is a dramatic case that should be properly investigated by the authorities. Renato does not have enough money to get a proper defense and his mom is selling the house to pay for it. This woman must be living the most terrible days in her life. She is another victim. But he must face the consequences of his actions. Was he in love with Castro or just trying to profit on his social connections and wealth or both? Were they in a kind of honey moon? That is not of much importance to me. I just think that this is a very sad story.

It’s important that people realize that violent situations happen regardless of sexual orientation and that many times, the main target is women, not men. Can you guess how many women are killed for a year in Portugal by their mates, boyfriends, husbands or ex-husbands? 39 women were killed in 2010!

In Portuguese society, there is a deep-rooted homophobia feeling. I think that we saw it all over the internet following the media treatment of the Carlos Castro murder case. I just read pretty awful comments everywhere especially if one doesn’t need to sign bellow in comment boxes of blogs, portals, and online news sites.

Following these events, I was influenced to create Valentine postcards and gifts for straight, gay and lesbian persons. As I read somewhere Love is Love. We may not understand it, we may not agree with it but we should respect it. Consider this: make a list of persons you admire. Probably you’ll find that some of them are gay or lesbian (or bisexual). Does it change anything in the way you are moved by with they do?

My short list just to get you thinking: Cole Porter, Martina Navratilova, Jodie Foster, Stephen Fry, Alexander, The Great, Hans Christian Andersen, Freddy Mercury, Leonard Bernstein, Alec Guiness…See what I mean?

Christmas Season and Zazzle Greeting Cards you can buy online

Receiving Christmas Cards in my childhood was as good as getting presents. I loved to display it on a table. My mother probably told her friends and family that I enjoyed it very much. So I got cards from her friends as they always sent an extra card for me. Later I learned how to write and soon I was also sending cards. In my teenage years, an early celebration of Christmas started with an early visit to local shops to buy a small pile of cards at the beginning of the month of December. As a result of it I have a huge collection of cards and still love to receive it, send it and create it.

At Zazzle.com it's possible to upload our designs and sell them. Last year I sold my first Zazzle Christmas Postcard. It was a great feeling! Today I create Christmas cards and spent a lot of time enjoying other Zazzle creators' work too. I hope you like this special Christmas feature. I'll be showing a lot of Christmas cards in the next weeks!!

Instead of paper cards, many send electronic Christmas card. Making and sending a virtual Christmas card is easy and the normal thing to do for generations raised without handwritten letters. We just pick a site and follow the instructions at each step. Not very creative but with animation and sound E-cards are a lot of fun. Recent concern over the environmental impact of printing, mailing and delivering cards has fueled an increase in e-cards choice.

These are not e-cards! I Handpicked each at Zazzle.com! It took me ages!! I am all for paper cards tradition...still! These are paper and irresistible. And you can buy it if you want. Click and follow instructions.
