Portuguese Christmas Rabanadas with Port wine syrupe made in the oven

Deep-fried food doesn't have a reputation for being healthy. This cooking method promotes a healthy lifestyle and helps in managing weight compared to frying! A baguette (french word) or "cacete" is usually 500g. (Don't cut it all at once in slices as it may be a lot for this list of ingredients.  How to prepare this delicious Christmas Recipe! Cut a loaf of bread into oblique slices as thick as your index finger, more or less, and discard the ends. Place them on a board. These slices will be watered with milk.  Select a different tray to place the bread slices in the oven and line it with parchment paper that has been generously buttered. In a saucepan, combine 300 ml of milk, 50 g of sugar, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 2 lemon peels. Stir the mixture occasionally. When it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and set it aside. While the milk cools down a bit, you can prepare the syrup. In another saucepan, combine 200 ml of water, 100 ml of port wine, 100 g of sugar, 2 lem

Santa Claus and Rooster toast to the New Year Card Buy it from Zazzle, click for details Porto, often dubbed the capital of Port Wine , welcomes the New Year with great fervor. Just before midnight, people near the ClĂ©rigos Tower clock, look up, eagerly awaiting the stroke of midnight. The new year has arrived! Bottles of Champagne are uncorked, and toasts are raised near the city's most iconic tower and everywhere. It looks like the Portuguese Rooster prefers to toast with Port Wine and Santa Claus isn't shy about it either! For those who know me, it's no secret that my favorite Portuguese city is Porto. It's where I flock to celebrate SĂ£o JoĂ£o in June, one of Portugal's and perhaps Europe's grandest street festivals. Among the most unforgettable moments during these festivities is the dazzling fireworks display on the D. Luiz Bridge spanning the Douro River. The skies of the city once again ignite with fireworks on New Year's Eve, presenting a breathtaki

Just before midnight, all eyes are on the clock at the Augusta Street Arch. The anticipation builds as the new year approaches. Revelers are in a rush, having already uncorked bottles of champagne and raising toasts on the famous Rua Augusta. If you're a fan of the famous Portuguese Rooster, these Christmas gifts are a perfect choice. You can gift them to a Portuguese relative, friend, friendly neighbor, work colleague, or anyone with a special connection to Portugal. What can you do in Lisbon on New Year's Eve? While many observe the French Le RĂ©veillon, fewer mention that it's also the night of SĂ£o Silvestre, marking the last night of the year. According to Portuguese folklore, this celebration is linked to a popular legend that bestowed it the name SĂ£o Silvestre Night. Legend has it

Join me, and I will share with you how I spend the final hours of the last day of the year and the first hours of the New Year! I can't promise an extravagant program, but through my account, you'll gain insight into me and the various traditions, superstitions, and beliefs that guide the Portuguese people when the clock strikes twelve in Portugal. You might be curious about the green drink I'm holding. It's a beverage I enjoy on the last day of the year: Licor de poejo. Its green hue is often associated with hope. This liqueur boasts a delightful color and a captivating flavor. Pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium) belongs to the well-known genus Mentha and is quite common in Portugal, belonging to the Lamiaceae (lipped) family. Santa Claus meets the Portuguese Rooster Notebook Click to buy from Zazzle Food is a matter of great importance in Portugal. It is a common belief that when Portuguese families or friends gather, they spend hours at the table, engaging in conversation, laughter, and savoring a variety of dishes, including appetizers, main courses, desserts, coffee, digestives, and a range of beverages such as red wine, champagne, Port Wine, Ginginha, and more. For Christmas Eve, many Portuguese people have a light dinner called Consoada. Portugal is a predominantly Catholic country, and as such, it's customary for many to abstain from eating meat during this time, often opting for fish, particularly codfish, or seafood dishes. In some regions, octopus is preferred over cod, prepared either by roasting with potatoes or as part of a rice dish. Christmas occasionally falls on a Friday, which is traditionally a day of abstinence within the Catholic Church. However, the practice goes beyond religious o

Ă“BIDOS VILA NATAL is great fun for children and families

Visit the official site for more infor mation It was the first country theme park alluding to Christmas, promoted by the Municipality of Ă“bidos and a well-known bank in December 2006. I visited one of the subsequent editions and the success of the initiative was clear. Lots of families and children having fun, thrilled local merchants serving us the famous ginjinha de Ă“bidos in a chocolate cup! I never went back but Ă“bidos Natal went on. For this 2022 edition, the theme chosen was "Glow". The event will run from November 30th to December 31st. There are several attractions for the whole family combined with music and street lighting. Ă“bidos acquired its own low-intensity LED lighting a few years ago, made up of adaptable modules, allowing for different light designs, depending on needs. It's also an example of sustainability that should inspire many more cities. These are the activities that can be experienced at Ă“BIDOS VILA NATAL • Santa's Chalet ◦ Santa Claus and h
